In 1996, Topps released a series of trading cards called “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi Widevision.” These cards were designed to showcase the film “Return of the Jedi” in a panoramic format, allowing for a wider view of each scene.
The set consisted of 144 base cards, each measuring 3.75 inches by 5.5 inches, and included images from the entire film. In addition to the base set, there were several insert sets, including foil-stamped cards, etched-foil cards, and embossed cards.
One of the standout features of the “Return of the Jedi Widevision” cards was the detailed and informative text on the back of each card. This text provided additional information about the scene depicted on the front of the card, giving fans a deeper understanding of the movie’s plot and characters.
